Hello Klams, and Happy Thanksgiving.  I hope this note finds you all well.

I am writing to request assistance.  As you all know, the pool and swim team are volunteer run by a team of dedicated members.  We are in need of more volunteers.  I know you hear this every year, and it's easy to waive off as not my responsibility, however, in order to be successful, we need volunteers to help lead and guide our pool and team.

Currently, we are in need of a representative to serve as the VPSU board representative for Kingswood.  Laura Broderick (Swim Team Coordinator) & I (President) have been tag-teaming this responsibility for the past year, and given our commitements in leadership roles on the KW Board, we can not represent our club effectively for the VPSU.

Roles and responsibilities are to attend monthly meetings of the VPSU board and report discussions back to KW board for a vote decision, serve a role on the board, and volunteer for various commitees (Champs, rules, awards, publicity, etc.)

If you are interested in serving, please let me know.  It would ensure our team is adequately represented in our swim league.

Additionally, we are in need of membership on the board.  We do have a long standing, active membership in the board, but we do need more volunteers to take active roles and responsibilities.  You may have noticed the Brunswick stew sale was canceled this year - We did not have enough volunteers to take action and get the ground work done to host this event this year - a significant fundraiser for keeping our costs down.  I fear, without additional help, we will witness the same fate for future events this winter and spring.  Please consider joining the board and taking an active role in leading and organizing.

Lastly, I wanted to let you know that we are diligently working to continue our fun pool and potentially bring new perks to our membership.  We had plans for resurfacing the floor in the clubhouse this year, and potentially bringing in some additional outdoor games in the field for the kids to play, however increased costs last year and the loss of hosting the summer awards meet every other year have decreased our available budget and do not allow this in our budget this winter.  We are looking at other potential options to keep our budget high enough to continuously improve our facilities and will notify membership if any come to fruition.
