Hello Klam Families! 

We hope you had a happy and healthy holiday season. Every summer Kingswood pool relies on membership dues and swim team profits to cover pool expenses for the summer and the remainder of the fall/winter/spring months. We also raise money through fundraisers like our 5K race and concession stand. Unfortunately, this summer we did not raise enough funds to cover our winter costs because we offered significant membership discounts, had fewer KW members, had lower revenue from the swim team, and were unable to hold any fundraising events. Therefore, we are finding ourselves at a significant budget deficit. 

As you may know, the Williamsburg Aquatic Club has been using our facility this fall and winter. The Club has paid for significant upgrades to our facility and all costs associated with their use of the facilities. These include a complete overhaul of our electric system, pool pump system (including a back-up motor), lighting for our parking lot, and all chemical and utility fees. Kingswood, at this time is unable to pay our insurance costs, and loans on the building for our January- summertime bills. 

In an effort to close the gap we are asking for donations and/or for members to pay their summer membership fees early. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any membership discounts this summer due to our budget constraints. 

Checks may be made payable to Kingswood Pool. This summer our membership dues will be as follows:

• Family Membership: $400
• Couple Membership: $290
• Single Membership: $180

In addition, if you were a new member to KW during the 2020 summer or did not pay your 2nd installment from the 2019 summer, the initiation fees are $200 total payable over 2 summers ($100 per summer). If you are unsure if you completed your initiation fees from the 2019 summer season please ask Laura Broderick. If you were a new member in 2020, you may pay the initiation fees over the summer of 2021 and summer of 2022. 

If you are able to pay your membership early or provide a donation you may:

• Drop off a check in an envelope labeled "Kingswood Pool" at Kingswood Pool after 3:00 pm during the week or before 1:00 pm on the weekends. Coach Harold is almost always at the pool!
• Mail a check to Laura Broderick: 2136 Benomi Drive, Williamsburg VA 23185
• Coordinate with any KW board member or Coach Harold
