Hey Klams!

Monday is our first home meet against Windsor Great Park! This is a "friendship meet" because our team is in Division 1 and they are in Division 3. We do not "keep score" but this is a great opportunity for your swimmers to see friends from other teams, get a "Champs" time, and have a super fun meet experience. Even if your child is not yet swimming in the meet, we still encourage you to stop by, grab some food at the concession stand, cheer for the Klams and see what a summer swim meet is like at Kingswood! Here is important information!

1. Arrive by 4:30 at Kingswood Pool- the youngest swimmers will warm-up starting at 4:45. The meet will start at 6:00. *The Coaches will love helpers to put the heats/events on the swimmers hands! When the older swimmers finish their warm-ups all the swimmers are encouraged to hop in the pool for a team cheer!
2. What to bring? Chairs, swim gear! We sit along the long side of the pool and around the diving well.
3. Concessions- We will run a FULL concession stand with burgers, hotdogs, snow cones, nachos etc!! Please let me know if you would like to bring pasta salad. We only take cash, check, or Venmo! 
4. Soda- please remember to bring your soda donation (or sparkling water!) of name brand soda- 12 ounce cans- this is only 2 total per family (not swimmer!)
5. Klam Buddies- be sure you check for your Klam buddy in the clubhouse or in the previous email! We are bringing treats for our buddies for the home meets! Its easy to put it in a gift bag/brown paper bag- think small treats and pool toys! Encourage your swimmers to cheer for their buddies too! This is a great way to meet new friends! If you can't be at Monday's meet, please try to send a treat for your buddy with another family.
6. Pool Closing- the pool will close at 4:00 on Monday for the meet set-up.
7. Volunteer Shift- Thank you all SO much for signing up to help. Before the meet begins, I will hand everyone a sticker with your job assignment in case you forget:) Please let me know if you have any questions and you also received a separate email from me this morning! 8. Can't come Monday? Please email Coach Harold at [email protected] if your child will not participate on Monday- this ensures we do not have open lanes during the meet and helps it run faster. Please do this for every meet this season if you are unable to attend.
9. Practice Information: Coach Harold will hold practice every day- even the day after the meets!
10. Ribbons: Ribbons will be in a blue ribbon box divided by last name! We place ribbons by heat, not overall place. So, if your child is in heat 5 and wins their heat, they will earn a 1st place ribbon, even if their overall place was 15. Ribbons will be in the ribbon box on Tuesday morning- be sure to grab them!
11. Swimtopia App: The website has an app you can purchase for a small fee to keep track of the events your child swims, their times, and your volunteer shifts.

Here are a few notes for our new Klam families!

• Swim meets at Kingswood are often long! They will normally finish between 9-9:30.
• If you are unable to stay the entire meet that is totally fine- we realize many of our families have young children with early bedtimes! 
• If you can stay, even if your child is finished, please do! The relays at the end are very fun to watch and cheer! 
• Park in the large field in front of the clubhouse. 
• Parents are not permitted to video or take pictures from behind the blocks for the swimmers safety. 
• Bring your friends and family to the meet- its a great time for everyone! 
• We will try to have the swim meet even if the weather is not cooperating. Please be prepared to come to the meet. We will let you know if something changes. We will try and reschedule for Tuesday, but that is not always possible.
